ICTP Prize 2023 Announced

ICTP has awarded its 2023 ICTP Prize to Mohit Kumar Jolly of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India, and Xinan Zhou of the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Sciences (KITS), University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), Beijing, and ShanghaiTech University, China. Both have made remarkable and novel contributions to their respective fields by developing new mathematical and computational methods with approaches rooted in theoretical physics. Read more ...


Graduation Ceremony, Masters in Medical Physics

During a graduation ceremony held on 13 December at ICTP, 29 students from 24 different countries received diplomas for their successful completion of ICTP and University of Trieste's joint Master of Advanced Studies in Medical Physics (MMP) programme. From ITU, Pakistan to ICTP

Isma Javed and Ramna Khalid, two PhD students in electrical engineering from the MicroNano Lab at the Information Technology University of the Punjab in Lahore, Pakistan, are currently spending three months at ICTP to use optical facilities that are not available at their home university. Through the hands-on experience they are gaining here, they will contribute to build research capacity in optics in their home country. Read more ...


ICTP Joins Global AI Initiative

ICTP has joined an elite group of international research institutes and high-tech companies aiming to shape the evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) by working together for the advancement of open, safe and responsible AI. ICTP Researcher Wins ERC Grant

Marcello Dalmonte, a research scientist with ICTP's Condensed Matter and Statistical Physics section, has won a five-year grant from the European Research Council (ERC) to investigate the connections between quantum many-body systems and network and data-mining theory. ERC grants are at the core of the most prestigious basic research funding programme in Europe. Read more ...
