 In Memoriam: Roman JackiwICTP was saddened to learn of the passing of Roman Jackiw, a theoretical physicist renowned for his many fundamental contributions and discoveries in quantum and classical field theories. Jackiw, an emeritus professor at MIT, received ICTP's Dirac Medal in 1998, sharing the prize with Stephen Adler of the Institute for Advanced Study. Both were leaders in the sophisticated use of quantum field theory to illuminate physical problems. | |
