Nurturing Young Physicists in Africa

Fourteen years ago, ICTP joined a number of the world's top research institutes and laboratories to share their knowledge about particle and nuclear physics with sub-Saharan African physics students by organising the first African School of Fundamental Physics and Applications (ASP). The latest edition was held in July 2024 in Morocco under the umbrella of ICTP's 60th anniversary, attracting nearly 150 participants. Read more ...

Dirac Conversations: Buonanno, Damour, Pretorius

ICTP is a hub for international science, attracting thousands of scientists each year, including some of the most prestigious physicists and mathematicians in the world. Hundreds of Nobel laureates, Fields medallists, and ICTP Dirac medallists have visited ICTP over the years, sharing their insights and perspectives with ICTP's international science community. ICTP is capturing some of these insights in its video series of "ICTP Conversations" and "Dirac Conversations". This month, we highlight the recording of a conversation with the 2021 Dirac Medallists.

ICTP at TriesteNext 2024

ICTP scientists shared their passion for physics and mathematics with the general public at this year's TriesteNext science festival, held in Trieste's Piazza Unita from 27 to 29 September. Hundreds of people of all ages visited ICTP's exhibit there, and attended the Centre's two panel discussions on AI and energy and climate.
